Landing Skillshots

Landing Skillshots in League of Legends can be tricky, but with some practice, it can be a real game changer. Skillshots are made so, in LoL to be worthy of landing them perfectly. Let’s just consider Ahri’s charm:

  • can control you for a few seconds, where you can’t do anything;
  • can be used to escape, or even for stopping the enemy run away;
  • it also does some damage (200 + 50% of AP);
  • also, has a cooldown of only 12 seconds and costs 85 mana;

     So, it makes a lot of sense to learn how to be good at landing skillshots in LoL. In this post, I’ll try to make this easier for you. I’ve searched on the internet, and this is what I’ve found:

     Tip no. 1: Hit them parallelly, not perpendicularly! – When the enemy is running away from you in the same direction as you’re following, there are more chances of hitting him, then when you’re trying to skillshot him when your directions of movements are not the same.

Tip no. 2: Avoid getting avoided! – They know that you’re about to skillshot them, and they are prepared for it. Avoid hitting them in this situations. Just save your skillshot for the less risky situations. Also, if there are more than two of you chasing the opponent, and you both have cooldowns, then you can try to hit them.

Tip no. 3: It’s all about Risk/Reward! – how much are you risking my trying to skillshot? If there is a low risk with the outcome of missing, then you can risk it. On the other hand, if the outcome of you missing the skillshot, gets you into the situation where you might die and tilt your team, or risk some of your teammates getting hurt, then save the mana/energy.

Tip no 4: How important this game is? – If you’re playing the normal, damn just practice hitting more! If it’s true that it only takes you 10 000 hours (or repetitions) to master something, then you better start practicing them skills! If it’s ranked, then try to avoid risking and spend your bullets wisely!
